Pilot Projects

The project partners will intensively consult professional purchasers in the implementation of pilot green procurement processes.

The following qualities characterise a pilot project:

  1. First application of the Buy Smart+ criteria by a given institution
  2. Intensive consultation with at least 1 in-house workshop
  3. Monitoring of implementation, support in tendering
  4. Calculation of life cycle costs by the purchaser
  5. Qualitative and quantitative evaluation with questionnaire
  6. Documentation in good practice database with personal contact data of procurer, information on cost, energy and CO2 savings achieved
  7. Use in public communication (e.g. newsletters, press releases, internet, possibly on events)

All pilot projects will furthermore be consulted and possibly supported in the drafting of Green Procurement standards to be used in the institution’s internal purchasing policies.
